Staff Spotlight: Maria Flores

We’re so happy to Welcome our new House Manager, Maria Flores to the BayView family!  Maria has extensive experience working with seniors and has a heart of gold.  We asked Maria a little about herself so we could get to know her better.  Here’s what she had to say!

What is your role at Bayview?

I am the House Manager

What is the favorite part about working for BayView?

My favorite thing about working at BayView is showing up in the morning and seeing the smiles on our residents faces when they greet me and getting to tell them they are wonderful. It really gives me comfort knowing they are happy.

What do you like most about BayView?

I love the beautiful view that BayView has to offer and having a wonderful home like environment where I’m able to build a special bond with residents and their families.

How did you first learn about BayView?

From my very good friend Genoveva Guerrero who I can’t thank enough for introducing me to Bayview.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I was born and raised in Hayward California. I moved to San Diego in 1998. I’ve been working with the elderly since I was 18 Years old. I love what I do even though it can be very hard at times but it is all worth it in the end. I’ve meant some wonderful woman and men who’ve become much more than residents to me. They’re friends that have had a very deep impact on my life.

Tell  us a little bit about your family.

I have two beautiful daughters and I have great parents who truly are the best! I’m am the middle child of 3 girls and I have 3 nieces and two dogs whom I love .

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us.

My first job was when I was 16 yrs old at the animal control.  After only two months of working there I ended up with 7 cats!

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

To love to spend time with my family and build memories with my daughters.
